JEFF IVANHOE - The man who made Elvis

Jeff Ivanhoe recycles soda and beer cans in an unusual way. His visually exciting mosaics are created from pieces of aluminum cans.

As a young man, Ivanhoe studied art at the University of Arizona. When he returned back East, he went to work in the field of advertising and worked on accounts for PPG Industries, Gulf Oil, Alcoa and Westinghouse. He was the executive art director for Metropolitan Pittsburgh Public Broadcasting where he designed the motif for the sail of Thor Heyerdahl’s ship Tigris. The National Geographic Society later documented the Tigris voyage.

When Jeff moved back to Arizona permanently in 1979, he said goodbye to commercial art and ALUMOSAICS was born. His work has been featured on the cover of TRAVELHOST magazine, MyLIFE magazine, the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and can be found in private collections.
